About the Job
An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Demi Chef De Partie to join the team at this luxurious new resort. The main duties and responsibilities of this role include:
- Preparing and cooking high-quality food according to menu guidelines and recipes as instructed by the Sous Chef or Chef De Cuisine.
- Ensuring that all dishes reach the hot plate properly garnished, with the correct portion and size, presented on the correct serving dish in the prescribed manner, maintaining the highest quality standards.
- Ensuring that all mise-en-place is always freshly prepared and on time.
- Actively managing all aspects of the section and delegating tasks to junior kitchen staff to ensure smooth operation of the allocated kitchen section to the expected quality standards.
- Managing service during busy periods and, in the absence of senior chefs, overseeing the kitchen to ensure all standards and quality procedures are adhered to.
- Planning staff training with the Sous Chef and maintaining an active training program for each team member, ensuring that junior chefs and trainees receive the right training and optimum guidance.
- Developing and maintaining positive working relationships with others and supporting the team to achieve common goals.
- Ensuring adherence to departmental policies, processes, standard operating procedures, and instructions to deliver luxurious service to guests in line with the standard of excellence.
About You
The ideal candidate for this position will have the following experience and qualifications:
- College Degree in Culinary Arts or a similar field from an accredited Culinary School.
- At least 4 years of experience in progressively more complex and responsible roles, ideally within the luxury hospitality industry.
- Expertise in food quality and presentation skills.
- Expert culinary knowledge of both classical and international culinary trends.
